5 Most Important Things from Star Wars Celebration 2023

With Star Wars Celebrations coming to a close let's take a look at the top 5 things you DON'T want to miss.


1. New Movies!

Fans definitely have a lot to look forward to, as three new live-action Star Wars movies are in production, and will continue and expand the existing timeline.


Daisy Ridley announced at Star Wars Celebration that she is set to return as Rey as the character attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order after the events of Episode ix.


We will also see the emergence of the force and the dawn of the Jedi in James Mangolds' new project. Though little is known about this project it will amazing to this origin story in movie theaters.


Finally, we will see the Mandalorian come to the big screen in a story that culminates the storylines from The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka into one EPIC movie.

2. The Timeline is being expanded!

An image presented at the convention included the following Star Wars Eras: Dawn of the Jedi, The Old Republic, The High Republic, Fall of the Jedi, Reign of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, the New Republic, Rise of the First Order, and New Jedi Order.


Dawn of the Jedi and New Jedi Order being the newest editions to the timeline will most likely include the aforementioned Rey storyline and James Mangold Project. However, what other content might be in this expanded timeline is still yet to be announced.

3. Ahsoka release and other Disney+ Series Announced.

Ahsoka is officially set to release in August 2023 and with this announcement, the official trailer has been released.


Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka, hinted that the hunt for Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, will be a major plot point in the series. Other Characters confirmed to appear will include Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), and Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi).

Additionally, many Disney+ shows have been renewed for new seasons including Andor, Tales of the Jedi, and Star Wars Visions (releasing May 4th) are among the shows receiving a second season.


Bad Batch is also set to return for a 3rd and final season although no other information is known at this time about its release.


New shows including The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew are slated to join the Disney+ Star Wars show catalog but no release date has been announced yet.


Lastly, an unnamed Lando Carlrission Series and an unnamed Taika Waititi Film are underway but are in development and no information is known other than they are still happening according to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

4. Star Wars Return of the Jedi returning to theaters!

IT'S BACK! Lucasfilm announced that Return of the Jedi will be returning to theaters in a limited rerelease on April 28th for its 40th year anniversary.




5. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Final Gameplay Trailer with a release date of later this month

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be out on April, 28th, and with its upcoming release the final gameplay trailer was released.
